{"id":232,"date":"2019-09-08T19:39:26","date_gmt":"2019-09-08T19:39:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timetablemaker.com\/blog\/?p=232"},"modified":"2019-09-09T00:43:28","modified_gmt":"2019-09-09T00:43:28","slug":"imovie-cuts-off-the-beginning-of-audio-from-mp4-video-clips","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timetablemaker.com\/blog\/imovie-cuts-off-the-beginning-of-audio-from-mp4-video-clips","title":{"rendered":"iMovie Cuts Off the Beginning of Audio from MP4 Video Clips"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Just a quick article to help others who run into this frustrating issue.<\/p>\n<p>I was working on a video project and while the Windows generated clips played perfectly in VLC and Quicktime Player in Windows and MacOS, once imported into iMovie the first 1, 2, or 4 seconds of audio was <strong>muted<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h1>How I fixed it<\/h1>\n<p>I downloaded <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/handbrake.fr\/\">Handbrake<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0and <strong>converted my files to use the AAC audio codec <\/strong>(I selected maximum quality for the audio and it sounds fine). The output files were about the same size and I was able to <strong>Open the contents of the iMovie Library<\/strong> file and <strong>replace the clips under &#8220;Original Media&#8221;<\/strong>, though it glitched once I added new clips, I didn&#8217;t have to recut the movie!<\/p>\n<h2>Good luck! \ud83d\ude01<\/h2>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Just a quick article to help others who run into this frustrating issue.
